Life Cycle Analysis (LCA)
Tarkett is committed to a comprehensive LCA programme following ISO standards that aims to:
- Utilise an eco-design tool as a basis toward fully environmentally friendly products
- Keep customers informed of the environmental impacts of Tarkett’s products and processes through a regularly updated document (EPD) showing our commitment to continuous and strong improvement
- Allow people involved in a sustainable approach to building (such as LEED GBC in the US or HQE in France) to choose appropriate products
Recycling
- Three large recycling units in Sweden, Luxembourg and France
- Re-Use waste management programme to avoid contributing to landfill
- All scrap material is recycled during production, with nothing going to waste
- For example, the Re-Use US reclamation programme for non-installed jobsite waste, and a system for returning samples to the plant to be recycled in future production
Prestigious award to Tarkett
- In 2004, Tarkett won the Blekinge Institute of Technology’s Golden Oak as “Leader in sustainable development of the year”
- King Carl XVI of Sweden presented the “Swedish better environment award for industry” (SBEAFI), which was given to Tarkett in 1998
